It was a bad weekend all round for the shams when both the junior and senior teams were knocked out of the championship. However the was great news for the baby shams winning the U12 West Clare Final against Kilmurry Ibrickane on a scoreline of 5-8 to 3-9.

The Kilrush U12's play Kilmurry Ibrickane in the West Clare Division 1 final on Friday the 20th of August in Kilrush @ 7pm. A victory for Kilrush would round off a great year where they narrowly lost out to eventual winners Doora Barefield in the county semi-final.

Both the Shams seniors and juniors enter in to this weekend championship games knowing that they both must secure victories to ensure progress in to the quarter finals. The seniors play first on Sat evening against Doonbeg in Cooraclare @ 6:30pm while the juniors line out Sunday against Clarecastle in Ballyea at 6:30pm.

There was mixed results for the club over the last few days. The U14's lost out to St Breckans by 5 points while the minors had a impressive win against Parteen. Both team must win their last few games to secure a place in the knock out stages.

The Kilrush U14's following their great result against Cratloe last week will be looking to put one foot in the semi final when they play St. Breckans in Kilrush on Monday next while the minors will need to get back to winning ways when they play Parteen in Parteen next Tuesday. Throw in for both games is 7:30pm.
Results
The shams had a good win over O'Curry's in the 2nd round of the senior championship in Doonbeg last weekend.running out 3-11 to -7 point winners. Report can be found in the Fixtures and Results page. The U14's had a great win over Cratloe on Monday last where the kicked an impressive 21 points. If they win there final two home games they should proceed to the knock out stages.

Senior Championship
The senior championship starts again this weekend when the shams play a must win game against O'Curry's in Doonbeg, Sunday evening @ 7pm.
Results
The Kilrush juniors had a good win in the championship last weekend when they defeated Wolfe Tones 1-16 to -5 in Ballyea. The U14's had a mixed week. On Monday they were beaten by Clonegad in the U14 league but they had a great win on Thursday evening against O'Curry's to win the Rose of Clare tournament in Cooraclare.

Results
There was good news for the shams over the weekend. The seniors qualified for the Garry Cup final defeating Wolfe Tones by 3 points and in the process promotion to division 1 while the U14's started off their campaign with a two point win over Cooraclare in the U14 championship. The minors bad run continued when they were defeated by Corofin by 5-8 to 1-6.

On Wednesday night the minors have a chance to get some points on the board away to Corofin while on Sunday the seniors are playing Doora Barefield in the Garry Cup final in Cooraclare @ 5pm.

Results
It has not been a good week for the shams on the results front. On Sunday last the Juniors went down to Eire Og by 6 points in the first round of the junior championship, the minors were beaten by Kilmihil on Wednesday night. Tthe U21's were knocked out of the championship at the quarter final stage when they were unlucky to lose to Milltown by two points.
Fixtures
Hopefully there will be a change in fortune for the shams over the next few days. On Saturday evening in Lisseycasey at 7:30pm the seniors play Wolfe Tones in the semi-final of the Garry Cup. A victory would guarantee the shams promotion back to division one.
On Monday night next (14th July) the U14's begin their campaign against Cooraclare in Cooraclare while on Wednesday night the minors have a chance to get some points on the board away to Corofin.

U21's Advance
The shams U21 team had a good victory over a fancied Kilmurry Ibrickane team last weekend in the quarter final of the U21 A county championship. Lining out with a number of our senior and minor stars the shams took the game to KIB from the off and never looked like losing.
There were very strong performances from Matthew Maloney, Donal Madigan, brothers Seamus and Dara Bolton, Sean Clancy and Jamie Gilligan with Con Prendiville getting the all important goal mid way through the second half. The shams now play Milltown Malbay for a place in their first U21 final since 1994. Incidently the final score from Cooraclare was Kilrush 1-9 KIB 1-5.

Recent Results
The shams senior team got back to winning ways on Saturday night when they defeated Lisseycasey by a point in the Garry Cup. The win guarantees the shams top spot in the league and a place in the semi final in the next few weeks. Match Report in fixtures and results.
The U12's lost out to Doora Barefield in the County semi-final last Wednesday night in Lisseycasey. In what was a very close encounter, which went to extra time Doora got the vital scores to run out 4-6 to 3-7 winners. Incidently the Doora team is trained by Kilrush's own Peadar McMahon.

Weekend Result
The shams are suffered their first defeat in the Division 2 league when they went down by 1-9 to 0-8 to Doora Barefield last Saturday. Match Report can be found in Fixtures and Results.
A successful week!
The shams had a number of good results over the last few days. The U10 team captured the county community games title last weekend and will go on to represent Clare in the Munster Finals hosted in UL in July. The U12's defeated Cooraclare on a scoreline of 4-10 to -4. On Monday last Kilrush Community School added to their recent success by winning the County U15 title when they accounted for a strong Ennistymon team.

Clare Senior Colleges Final
Kilrush Community School won their first Clare Senior Colleges final since 1991 when they defeated Rice College from Ennis on a scoreline of 1-8 to 1-7 on Monday last. The team managed by Noel Thornton, Martin Keogh, Tony Shannon and Ger Mescall had 9 shams on the starting team with 2 more taking their place on the bench.

The shams qualified for the semi final of the West Clare U10 league when they defeated both Miltown Malbay and Quilty over the last few days. They beat Miltown on a scoreline of 2-3 to 1-3 and a goal was again the difference against Quilty. The semi final is fixed for next Monday evening away to Clonegad @ 7pm.

Recent Results
The shams had a number of games over the last few days. On Monday evening the shams U16's lost to Ennistymon in the Division 1 shield final. It was a close game with Ennistymon who made the most of their wind advantage eventually winning by 2 points. The U12 team had a big win on Wednesday night when they defeated Lisseycasey 6-10 to -1. Finally on Saturday evening the sham junior team received a walk over from Smith O'Briens.

The juniors lost on Friday evening to a strong Meelick side while on Sunday the seniors all but secured their position in the League Semi Finals when they beat Wolfe Tones by 3 points.
